Deleting a COME APK versus uninstalling COME

Deleting a saved APK and uninstalling an app are different operations. Check the screen and selected item before confirming either.

A saved installer

An APK in Downloads is a file used for installation. Removing that copy does not mean Android has uninstalled the app. The installed application and its data are managed through the device's app controls.

An installed application

Uninstalling acts on the app and can remove local data. You may need to sign in again after a future installation. Do not use uninstall as a routine substitute for clearing obsolete downloaded files.

Choose by purpose

If the goal is to remove a duplicate installer, work in the browser or file manager and inspect that file. If the goal concerns the installed app, first preserve recovery access and read Android's explanation of the action.

A useful next step

Use the specific control that matches your intended cleanup, without changing unrelated account or app data.
